Brief description
Studio 0.10 firmly believes in the power of design not as the byproduct of an overtly aestheticized process of formal desires, but rather as strategic and intelligent processes of thinking. This position is predicated on a rigorous process of thought translating to work methodologies offering specific architectural scenarios that are neither design driven nor function driven, but idea driven. Design and function are viewed merely as handmaidens to the idea(s).
Viewing ourselves as strategists, we conceptualize the extraordinary through the lens of the ordinary, believing that design solutions will become evident if the process for design is tailored around the optimization of the problem statements. At 0.10, every project is launched not with answers but with questions about the system of constraints as presented through the project requirements. The work process is then tailored by a creative drive to seek out the ‘anti-constraints’ that will empower us to derive solutions that balance pragmatic concerns and design innovation.
This belief and approach has garnered 0.10 with numerous recognitions and awards from the international design community. The firm’s work has also been published in more than twenty national and international design magazines and journals.
