Brief description

Fournier-Rojas ARQUITECTOS (FoRo ARQUITECTOS) was founded in San Jose, Costa Rica by architect Alvaro Rojas, a CCNY/City University of New York graduate, in 1975. Artist and architect Sylvia Fournier joined the firm in 1995 and has been a partner since 2000. Sylvia has an Art degree from the University of Costa Rica and an architecture professional degree from Universidad del Diseño, an experimental school of architecture.

We are a small studio with strong interests in architecture and design that respond to both universal and local contemporary issues, from responsible environmental design to ideas in architecture in the Tropics.

Both Sylvia and Alvaro are academics and quite interested in investigating about spatial, formal and material expressions of Costa Rican architecture today.
