Brief description
Nicolas Dorval-Bory Architect is a young office based both in Paris and in Buenos Aires.
Nicolas Dorval-Bory (born 1980) studied at the School of Architecture of Paris-Malaquais and at the School of Architecture of Paris Val-de-Seine, where he graduated in 2007. Right after, he set his own practice in Paris, at first mainly dealing with interior design (Wes In Paris, Two Boxes, Sliding Wall, 2008). In early 2009, Nicolas moved to South America (Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires). Still working independently between France and South America, he since collaborates with architects Emilio Marín (Chile) and Raphaël Bétillon (France).
The office works in a very wide range of scales. With years it has developed a particular understanding of architecture, mostly inspired by contemporary art, science and nature, always thought with a very high care for details. Every project is conceived in a search for simplicity over complexity with - more than any dogmatic view - a strong concern about environmental issues, but trying to think outside of the box, as we believe a new architecture paradigm should emerge from climatic and energetic analyze of spaces.
