Giancarlo Zema has born in Rome in 1973 and graduated in Architecture at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome with Prof. Giovanni Zuccon, one of most important naval designer in the international scene. His great passion and creativity have given him the opportunity to work on alternative and innovative projects, where architecture and design merge to create new forms of art. He is sensitive to new technologies and used sophisticated high performance technological elements perfectly integrated in his organic design. The main characteristics of his design are soft lines that clearly recall biomorphic forms.

In 2001 he founded his personal architecture studio named Giancarlo Zema Design Group (GZDG), located in Rome, Italy. The studio has developed skills in naval architectures and Industrial design and has worked on outstanding projects to create thinking and design.

Since 2001 he has been collaborating as a designer with the Underwater Vehicles Inc. a Canadian society, leader in submarine and semisubmerged architectural structures.
