Geneviève Bonnard was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1961. She graduated in architecture from the école polytechnique fédérale Lausanne (EPF) in 1986.

Denis Woeffray was born in Les Evouettes, Switzerland, in 1959. After obtaining a degree in technical drawing, he graduated in architecture from the école technique supérieure Bienne (ETS) in 1983.

They founded Bonnard/Woeffray/architectes in Monthey, Switzerland, in 1990. In 2004-2005, they were visiting professor in architectural design at EPF-Lausanne.
