This is a project by Giovanni Vaccarini Architetto and it is located at Teramo, Italy. Project's program: Cemetery. There are ten images for New Silvi Cemetery.
The area of intervention is located to the north of the present “holy field”.
The idea of the project is to design a settlement system that talks with the curves level and at the same time with the surrounding landscape.
The landscape, the stringy buildings are opened in the landscape unhinging one of the canons of the cemetery: the fence.
The materials of the project are essentially two: the coating of stone and plaster.
The buildings are designed as monolithic stringy volumes coated in stone in overlooking to the landscape. The coating is made with a rough stone with colour variations. It’s a scraggy use, the joints between the various resorts have been left open; the architectural party is marked by vertical cuts that draw a macro bar code.
The inside part of buildings (the “belly”) is all in face-to-view concrete and grey plaster.
