This is a project by Martyn Lawrence-Bullard Design and it is located at Bel-Air, California, United States. Project's program: Interior design for single family house. There are twelve images for Cheryl Tiegs Home.
Nestled in the hills of one of California’s most prestigious neighborhoods, Martyn Lawrence-Bullard designed a sensational Bali inspired sanctuary abounding with charm for the lovely Cheryl Tiegs; orchestrating a space that was elegant yet comforting and a place where her history, family life, and travels could surround her.
As you walk through a snug dimly lit foyer into the expansive and breezy central area, which is anchored by four exquisite twenty-eight foot high pillars, you feel the airy lightness of the home. Lawrence-Bullard’s choice of mixing cheerful cerulean ikat-covered chairs with a striking yet cozy cobalt-blue mohair sofa all resting peacefully below the soaring vaulted ceilings allows for total surrender into serenity. Family photographs punctuate the fireplace mantle and stunning collages by ex-husband and world renowned artist Peter Beard are sprinkled throughout the home.
In each room, Lawrence-Bullard brilliantly assembled a layered colonial aura which is only magnified by the careful placement of Tieg’s exotic keepsakes and stunning collection of artwork.
The property is even equipped with a meditation pavilion where Tieg’s indulges in her daily “hour of power,” in order to keep her mind and body strong. To achieve a maximum sense of calm Lawrence-Bullard used natural materials such as sea-grass rugs and Japanese tea-stained rice wallpaper to provide a soothing backdrop for Tieg’s meditation.
Only a designer such as Lawrence-Bullard could take the habits, personality, and desires of someone such as Cheryl Tiegs and bring them to fruition in this spectacular home which is the embodiment of elegant serenity.
