Designer's statement

Paul Valéry Highschool buildings in Menton, France was recently restructured and extended by French architecture firm N+B Architectes. The project took into account the notions of flexibility, environmental use functionality and to enable the programmatic entities to be linked together around exterior spaces. The ambition of the project was to offer a coherence set in a specific environment.

The high school struggles with the sweltering Côtes d’Azur climate in France. N+B Architectes' solution, which added a further 2800 sq m space quadrupling the size, has provided Paul Valéry Highschool with a comfortable education environment and has turned it into a stylish landmark for Menton.
