Designer's statement
The new location of the building company is used as a regional establishment for administration. The building yard is placed external.
All office space is located in a four storey building, designed as a compact solitaire. The storage facility for small parts is arranged in the retral part of the site, covered by a flying roof.
Along the street a buckled outwall, built in concrete, leads to the entrance of the office building and isolates the retral staffs’ garden from the outside world. The entrance is canopied by an overhanging balcony, which belongs to the lounge on the second floor.
The inner structure is arranged in five layers, in spite of the square floor plan. The outer layers contain the offices just as a storage on the ground floor. Vertical circulation, sanitary facilities and kitchenette are located in the core, flanked by the corridors. Vertical visual links and orientation are possible because of a vent in front of the staircase. After entering the building, the height of physical structure and generous space becomes perceptible.
Long stripes of ribbon windows are positioned on the façade, made in plaster, according to use of the level. The outcome of this is an irregular structure of stretched openings.
Despite the discreet appearance, the cube attracts attention in the industrial area.
