Designer's statement

This is the refurbishment of a private apartment in a ’70 building in the historical centre of Castelfiorentino, The program to develop was clear and simple: give a strong identity and a recognizable style to the apartment, to be more suitable for the owners and to be at the same time contemporaneous and classical, warm and minimal, innovative and familiar. So the living room has been opened and enlarged, to embrace the entrance area and to get in contact with the dining room through a classical decorated glass sliding door, while the kitchen furniture was completely re-designed to be homogeneous with the rest of the furniture. The chromatic tone and the soft, traditional and at the same time minimal atmosphere of the whole apartment has been customized using a particular type of wooden pavement, clear and luminous but not shining nor glossy, in order to obtain a bright and opalescent diffuse ambient light without being too strong or intrusive in the matt atmosphere. The warm tone spread in the entire space has been enhanced in the small bathrooms using matt white tiles and mostly white furniture, except for a natural wengè console in the main bathroom to recall the wengè living room shelf.
