This is a project by Aleksandar Design Group and it is located at Sydney, Australia. Project's program: 29 residential apartments. There are eleven images for Croydon.
The design concept for the development was to create a solid masonry based with white apartments perched atop. A red face brick was selected to relate to the existing surrounds. This is juxtaposed against the stark white contemporary apartment bays above. A mix of single storey and cross over units has been employed to maximise the number of units facing north. Natural daylighting is therefore maximised. Covered north facing balconies provide private open space and sunshading to the north facing glazing. To the rear double glazed balconies provide protection from the adjacent rail lines. The top floor apartments each have their own individual roof terraces to maximise their private open space and capture distant views. All but two of the units are cross ventilated. All services are centralised to maximise habitable rooms to the façade and simplify construction.
