Architect's statement
The design of the house proposes the connection of two volumes as a response to the site´s special landscape conditions. At the crossing of the canal and the lake, the house captures the best views from the main rooms while the more private areas stay less exposed. The plan is a J letter which adapts to the site´s conditions and with a 30 degree angle creates the main entrance to the house.
At the rear of the building, the windows frame different views of the outstanding surrounding landscape while at the front, the openings are horizontal and being set at the viewer´s height allow the continuous view of the lake.
The relationship between the swimming pool and the house is a very special one, in which the former captures the sunlight by reflection creating an appropriate micro-climate for all the rooms surrounding it.
