Architect's statement

Men’s prêt-à-porter brand “maisontrois” asked us to create a very simple exhibition stand for hippest professional fashion show “Tranoï” in Paris. With almost no budget and a tiny surface which precise dimensions couldn’t be known until D-day, the brand wanted us to imagine a visually strong and nonetheless functional showcase for their clothes.

In this type of event, exhibition spaces are used by designers to draw professionals’ attention but also to more privately receive clients, requiring both a visually attractive design and an intimate space.

The idea came to create a very graphic, partially hidden stand, reflecting the confidential concept of the brand. We achieved this goal with a geometric black ribbon spreading from the top to the floor, allowing the exhibition of different sized clothes: starting by hanging with coats, trousers, then shirts, and using the ribbon as a shelve in the end to put smaller accessories.

The stand was 100% homemade (MDF and paint, pinewood for the floor) by the brand team and us, prefabricated in one week and built on place in about 3 hours.
