This is a project by Mazzanti & Arquitectos and it is located at Bogota, Colombia. There are twelve images for Social Kinder Gardens.
Public buildings must not only fulfill their role as urban equipment, but as a collective element that dignifies the living, therefore it must play a role beyond their speciality, it must create a social space, educational and dignity of life. A building as a symbol of a changing society and a democratic society more egalitarian.
Urban position, the building that looks at the city.
Different ways of implement the building were studied; finally decided to develop an implementation to build a clear front, defined and generous toward the city which in turn will maximize the function. The capacity of optimize these functional infrastructure leads to degenerate into a landscaped green areas and fun for the sector, compacting the program it was looked to make the greatest possible the public space.
Therefore the project is composed by a container building, that joins in the same element, the four parts of the program.
The project plans the re-composition of the place through the manipulation of base level as a unifying element of the urban piece, a platform that rises from 0. 00 level to operate the pool, because the area has serious problems of water table as it is filled area. This image is presented as an artificial topography capable of promoting events that congested the location of new activities, enriching the city with a new centrality.
The architectural design is planned, positioned and dimensioned based on their relevance and ability to enhance as much empty space in the block. In this sense but its design allows for complete autonomy, it is also an excuse to become a trigger project for a process of reorganization of the sector where it is located.
The building is planned as a container of curtain walling (lattice metal) mounted on a base as a balcony, which is located in the four programs, like boxes inside the container, each one with a different skin type, whether or stacking program differentiating each thematic box.
The façade of the container is metal laser cut designs alluding to the four programs. It can only generate an access to four different entrances to buildings (boxes), making each one independent.
The platform or basement as topography: The project proposes the restructuring of the place through the manipulation of base level as a unifying element of the urban piece, with an artificial topography capable of promoting events.
The platform as a base that unifies the three buildings and four programs. Interstitium: A contemporary axiom, a hole making the heavy volume get lightness, and floating off the ground slightly. It produces cracks that communicate all three of these buildings to an integrated system.
The container: It has a skin (metal lattice), which unifies the image and produces a public building with character, the skin that covers let light and water pass, like a wrap in a paper bag. The great mass specified the architectural object, strong, heavy, noticeable in its entirety, dual, translucent and solid, monumental, contemporary, nature and artifice. Its materiality associated with the transmission of light.
The boxes: The building envelopment and the amount involved, (container and contents) at the same time are covered by a skin or large envelope of Alabaster that protects them, hide them, nuance them or vanishing them depending on the use.
The building is designed as a great symbolic unit, but within their areas are specialized and are characterized in particular way, although it is a large building in size, it is planned a personalization by areas which is characterized by themes and that print a humanistic scale to a Building of large format.
The building itself is an educational and informative structure. It is designed as a container for a sequence of “modules or boxes" according to the thematic specialization of the program, whose skins are inspired by nature and contents of didactic speech and describes an experimental way for user.
