Architect's statement
The 22 house, located on a beach at 50 kms from Lima, Peru, has four beach apartments for the members of the same family. The rectangular-shape land has a surface of 4187 sf and truly spectacular views. To observe the regulations of the complex, the height of the project from the seafront is 6.5 ft. The common area includes swimming pool, living room, patio, kitchen and services. The concept was to integrate the apartments while keeping them as independent volumes, one on top of the other, thus generating diversity in the composition of the interior and exterior spaces of each apartment. The living spaces are designed to favor the action of looking out into the open, resulting in a complex that contrasts with the privileged views.
The elongated shape of the property allowed four apartments of about 1830 sf each. The whole development is communicated by a large central patio that looks out to the most attractive view of the bay. The structural solution generates wide open spaces, without any elements and large clearings are created with movable closings that permit fading out the interior-exterior relation. It is a project with a major architectural program resolved strategically to fully profit from the space.
