Architect's statement
We designed the modern space for a small gallery and café. Built around traditional Japanese architecture, this place is located in the famous street in Kyoto, Japan.
The very small courtyard in the ground floor and the ceiling made of the reed in the first floor are very important in providing a calm and relaxing atmosphere for the patrons, which was the primary goal of the project.
